Westover's Celebration of Captain Underpants

On Wednesday, Dec. 14, Arlington students  celebrated Dav Pilkey's Captain Underpants series at the Westover Branch Library.

Kids from kindergarten to fifth grade made underwear hats, answered trivia challenges, and competed in the toilet toss game.

The finale was a mad lib where students practiced their knowledge of parts of speech. This is the hilarious result:

Captain Underpants vs. the Evil Monster

One day in Science class, Mr. Banana accidentally spilled some stinkystein poison on a pile of underpants. Suddenly, the pile morphed into a squishy fanny that ate all the pencils. "Help!" cried Freddy Finkelstein. Instantly, Captain Underpants seemed to run through the wall. He grabbed a gloomy paper and picked his nose while kicking the monster on its hand. "Ouch!" said the monster, and it picked up some invisible water and tried to jump it at Captain Underpants. The mixture splashed on Captain Underpants' arm and turned him back into Mr. Krupp. Mr. Krupp gave him a look that made him slimy and he ran away to Chicago where he lived for one year.
THE END.

Do you know any kids who love Captain Underpants? Try this mad lib with them, then share your results in the comments below:
