Columbia Pike Book Club discusses The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd

Wed, January 18, 7:30pm – 8:30pm Columbia Pike Branch Library, 816 S Walter Reed Drive (map)

The group will discuss The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd. After her "stand-in mother," a bold black woman named Rosaleen, insults the three biggest racists in town, Lily Owens joins Rosaleen on a journey to Tiburon, South Carolina, where they are taken in by three black, bee-keeping sisters. This is a remarkable story about divine female power and the transforming power of love--a story that women will share and pass on to their daughters for years to come.
The club generally meets the third Wednesday of the month. For more information contact Anne-Marie Dittman at 703-228-7762.
