Carlin Springs and Claremont Students Chose Mock-Caldecott Award Winners

 
Here are more results from our "mock" Caldecott committees:

Students at Claremont Elementary School chose Blackout by John Rocco for their Caldecott winner.

Over at Carlin Springs, the students gave  Hooray for Amanda and Her Alligator by Mo Willems the top spot.
Honors went to Dot by Patricia Intriago; Queen of the Falls by Chris Van Allsburg; and Bumble-ardy by Maurice Sendak.


Mock-Caldecott votes so far:
  • Perfect Square - 1 vote
  • A Nations's Hope: The Story of Boxing Legend Joe Lewis - 1 vote
  • Heart and Soul: The Story of America and African Americans - 1 vote
  • Blackout - 1 vote
  • Hoorah for Amanda and Her Alligator - 1 vote
The official Caldecott Award will be announced on Monday, Jan. 23, along with many other youth media awards.  Stay tuned for more mock-Caldecott winners, and the actual results!
